C. L. Hollingsworth has sent to us a sample
of molasses he is now making, and from the
quality, which is very fine, we conclude that
he must be running a Hampton molasses mill.

Arm of Hagood & 'Alexander, has returned
from New York, where he laid in a splendid
stock of Fall and Winter Goods, which they
propose to sell at bottom prices. Advertise

The members of the Base Ball Club recent
ly organized at this place, have become al.
armed, and Pre talking of disbanding. Two
of their officers have the title of officers of the
army, the Captains of the 1st and 2d nines
and they are of opinion that they come under
the provisions of the proclamation. If they
should conclude to disband, "and retire to
their homes peaceably," we suppose the bats
and ball will be forwarded to His Ex-cel
len cy.

report now 'in circulation in certain sec!ions
of the County, that I have organized a colored
Ride Club, and hava regular drills with the
same, is positively false, and I am surprised
to know that any- one knowing me, should be
lieve any such a report. I have never thought,
of organizing a colored rifle club, and trust
that my friends will not belietve any su ch re
ports about me.

years, died at his residence, ini this County,
on Friday, the 13lth instaunt. Iiis remains

Mr- Jones. was, we believe, ai soldier in the
war of 1812, and when the late war between
thme North and the South broke out, although
ol, was one of' the hrst 'men in tihe Coutnty
to voluntteer, ad offer hiis services to his
nativ' State. Honorable, pat riot ic and up
right in all the walks of life. he leaves an ex
ampe,,er the imitation of us all, lie
leaves a large family of children, grand chiii
dren an d great grand ch,ildren, becidies a
large circle of friends to mourn his death,
