doors of his house, which very much night,

bare got corn or bacou, thoy wero evidcntjy
after monay. It is unfortunato that it was

serious than was at first supposed. Tho crops
on tho bottom lands aro a total Joss, while il

was blown down and lost, while much of i'

and is worthless. Tho cotton was also materially

County, and they are all of opinion that there
can not possibly be more than a half crop
mado. Where it was possible, many have
replanted with forward corn, while others
liavo planted their stubble land. The want
and distress that must inevitably follow this
disastor, can hardly be estimated. Add to
this, a prospect of high taxes, our outlook is
