WnP.RBAS, At the lato Democratic County o?nvontion, i\ proposition from Garvin club f was eubmittod (o said convention, proposing tho consideration of primary election for candidates to fill the various county offices, and for mombera.of the Legislature; and whereas, aid convention postponed the consideration of the samo, until tho noxt meeting of tho convention; and whoreas, tho duties of said convention being a spccifio one, to wit: Tho election of delegates to tho State convention which assembled in Columbia, on the 4th of r May, inst., and, also, the eloction of a county xecutivo committeo, and after tho discharge of these duties, il did ooase, in our opinion, to bo ft convention, and, therefore, unable to transact any further business; and, whercast '} belloving that it is the desire of many Demo-' cratfl in this county to have iv primary election for canoulatos to fill tho various oilices, as aforesaid, tho cxecutivo committee do thorofore. submit the following plan of primary elections to the various clubs for their ratification or rejection: That each of the Democratic clubs in tho county, 011 n day hcronftor to he designated by the executive committee, shall hold meetings for tho purpose of balloting for candidates for the following offices, to wit: two members of tho legislature, clerk of tho court, sheriff, judgo of probate, sohool commissioner, thrco county commissioners and coronei and after balloting for such candidates, a liat of the names of all persons voted for and X tbfl number of votes cnch iuay have rccoivotl be made out and sent up through their ro. poctlve delegations to tho county convention, which body shall prococd to oount all the votos for oaoh and ovey candidate voted for in each elub, and thereby aacerlaing tho wholo number of votes for each candidate, shall doolare the candidate who receives a majority of all the votes of all the olubs, the nominee of tho party for tho office for whioh ho was balloted lot' provided, howevor, in caso of a tie between two opposing candidates, the convention shall proceed to determine, by ballot, which of thum shall bo the nominee of the party. Rctolved, That each club determine during the month of June, whether they accept or roje<t the above plan of primary electious, anil report the result of their action to the executive committee on saleday in July next, in or der that, if a majority of tho clubs favor primary election?, ?.!>? oxecutivo committee may, as soon thereafter as practicable, appoint a ! f day for holding said primary election.
