Whereas, At tho lato Doraooratio County convention, a proposition from Garvin cl?l> f w?s flubtnittod to said convention, proposing tho consideration of primary cicotion for candidates lo fill tho various county officcs, and /or membors|of tho Legislature; and whereas, said convention postponod tho consideration of tlin Rftme. until tho noxt mooting of i.hn > convention; and whereas, the duties of said convention being a specific ono, to wit: The election of delegatoa to tho State convention which assembled in Columbia, on the 4th of ^ May, Inst., and, also, tho election of a county executive committco, and after the discharge of those duties, it did cease, in our opinion, to bo a convention, and, therefore, unable to transact any further business; and, whereas, believing that it is the desire of many Democrats in this county to havo a primary elec. tion for candidates to fill the various oiliccs, as aforesaid, tho executive committee do. therefore, aubmit the following plan of primary elections to the various clubs for their ratification or miontinii! That each of (lie Democratic clubs in (lie county, on a clay hcraaftcr to be designated by thooxcoutlvo committee, phall hold meetings for the purpose of balloting for candidates for tho following offices, (o wit: two members of tho legislature, clerk of (he court, sheriff, judge of probate, school commissioner, thrco county commissioners and coronet, and After balloting for such candidates, a list of the names of all persons voted for and % tho number of votes each may have rcccivod bo made out and sent up through their re!
