heart and soul of the community life

chosen to represent G. W. C. at a
convention at the State Normal Col

where they went to attend tho trial
in the case against the owners of the
Toxaway Lake, whose dam was
washed away by the high waters a
few years ago, and by reason of the
breaking of this dam great property
damage was worked In the country
below. Tho destruction to property
extended well Into Oconee county,
and the first case to be called was
that in which our county ls interest
ed to tho extent of one-half the loss
occasioned by the destruction of the
Iron bridge al Chapman's Ford. On
account of the Illness of one of the
jurors after tho beginning of tho
caso, the judge ordered that a mis
trial be recorded, and this case will
come up for hearing at a later sit
ting of the court.

Circle enjoyed a delightful aftornoon
last Fr ida v with Mrs. E. L. Herndon

solo was charmingly rendered by

turned to Walhalla to rest, it being
