He was a Confederate soldier and
came to Oconee from the reunion at
Atlanta last week. Ills friends wore

burg. Rev. Guy Martin officiated.
The bride was lovely in a beautiful
poarl-gray silk, in which she was
married, and traveled in a handsome
Pokin blue wool cloth traveling suit.
The young couple left immediately

is engaged In business. Mr. Mor
gan is a recent arrival from over

Last Sunday night or Monday

not known with sufficient certainty

ter. Monday morning Mayor Hotrick

tho offense and $25 for currying the
pistol. Tho liquor line was paid In
cash, while bond was given by u
friend of the defendant for
payment of tho other $25 during
tho latter part of this week. Local
policemen aro doing all they can to
stop tho traillo in liquor, but there
ia not a little of lt going on despito
their best endeavors. But walt.
-Last Sunday evening about 8
o'clock a head-on colllssion occur
red between a largo Studebaker car,
driven by a Mr. Cashers, of tho Oak
way section, and a strip Ford, driven
by J. Hort Uillespio. Tho accident
occurred on Poplar street near tho
residence of Capt. V. b\ .Martin.
Fortunately none of Hie occupants
of either car was hurt, the only
damage hoing to.tho cars, tho front
axles of both cars being moro or
less badly bent, lt seems that tho
driver of Ute larger car was In tho
wrong, although neither of the cars
bad lights.
Negro Killed at Anderson.

Red Frazier, a negro man, was '
shut and killed at No. 4 ll street,
Anderson mill village, this morning
about 8 o'clock. Two white mon,
.lohn S. McMahan and Robert Cor
loy, surrendered to tho cheif of po
lice shortly uftor the shooting oc
curred and the coroner's vordlct hold
that Frazier came to his death by
pistol shot wounds at the hands of
tbeso two men. Frazier's body
showed six bullet wounds.
Frazier was ono of a gang of
painters painting tho houses at tho
Anderson mill, and it is said that
Ito went to work on Friday about
noon. Homo of the people at thc
scene of the shooting said that bo
boasted that he wns a "buddie" of
.loo Turner, the negro who shot
and killed two policemon in Green
ville recently. Frazier's home is
near Watson's crossing, on tho Hine
Ridge railway.
The two white men were turned
over bv the chief of police to Sheriff
Sanders and they were placed in ;
Jail. They refuse to make any j
