WHAT WALHALLA WANTS TO
KNOW. A
Tho Answer Is Found In the 8tate*
ment of a Walhalla Resident.
From week to wee*, from year to
year, there have been appearing in
these columns statements made by
neighbors, which we have all read
with great Interest, and many of us
with groat profit. But what we want
to know is do they stand the great
est test of all-the test of time? Here
is conclusive evidence on this point
from a Walhalla man:
R. D. Oelkers, butcher, W. Main
St., sa.vs: "I had suffered from rheu
matic pains ever since I was a boy.
My kidneys had always been irregu
lar tn aotlon and I had backache.
Doan's Kidney Pills, procured from
Bell's Drug Store, gave me complete
relief."
OVER THRICE YEARS AGO Mr.
Oelkers said: "I haven't had the
slightest sign of kidney trouble since
,Doan's Kidney Pille cured mo. I am
?now in the best of health."

ONE SECTOR AMERICANIZED.
French General Not Fearful As to Re
sults of Change.
With the American Army in
France, Feb. 10.-An American gen
eral now commands the sector of the
front recently taken over by our
troops. When the Americans first
entered the sector it was under the
command of a French general com
manding a certain large unit of the
French army. Now we have control.
In turning tho sector over to the
American general on February 5 tho
French commander issued a general
order in which ho expressed com
pleto satisfaction with our troops.
The order turning tho sector over to
the Americans, a copy of which was .
communicated to our forces, reads:
"On February 5 the commanding
genernl of-American unit takes
command of - sector. The com
manding general of -French unit
takes occasion to* express to the
American general, the colonels of nr
tillery-nnd all of the American units
which have been under his orders,
complete satisfaction with the way
in which the American troops have
acquitted themselves of the mission
entrusted to them. Their good will
and their ardent desire to excel-and
the rapidity with which they have
aidaptecl themselves to life of the
sector have brought them the. admi
ration of all. Gen.-hands over
the sector with c infldence that lt is
in good hands, and that the American
troops will organize it with method
and the tenacity characterising
American genius, and in case of at
tack will defend it with great
valor."

Feeding Cotton Seed Unlawful.
Win. Elliott, food administrator,
has Issued the following statement:
"Reports have reached this office
that farmers in sections of tho State
are feeding seed to ' cattle, and in
some instances using seed for fertili
zers. Such a policy on the part of
any producer ls short-sighted when
the prevailing prlco for cotton seed is
obtainable and results in an economic
loss as "well as destroying valuable
food for man and beast.
"The food administration would
like to seo this wasteful practice
eliminated. Rule 4 of the special
rules of the United States food ad
ministration prohibits the uso of cot
ton seed for feed or fertilizers with
out the written consent of the State
food administrator. It is probable
that few farmers who are thus prac
ticing this wasteful method realise
the loss both to themselves and to
their fellow man resulting In the util
ization of cotton seed in this manner.
"America ls the greatest food
storehouse of the world to-day, and
we must all practice the strictest
kind of economy. There must he no
waste of the essential food products.
Tho oil .which is extracted from the
cotton seed is a food product.'.'
