Mrs. Martini Ramsay happened to
a painful and serious accident last

her residence and crushing her knee.
She was alone at the Hmo of the ac

until help arrived several hours af
terwards. She was removed to the
residence of her son, who lived near,
and received a physician's attention.
Her friends hope to hoar of her
steady improvement, and complete
restoration lo health.
Majoi ti. F. Sloan suffered a fall
last Friday nigh! in .coin;; up the

While he was rendered very uncom
fortable by the fall, his condition was
not at any lime serious, and we hope

The choral class of the Seneca High

under the (dib ?(Mit leadership ol' Miss
Latia Ballenger. The class will ap

will be keenly anticipated by their

Practice? oil the operetta "Pnsqul

going on satisfactorily, and will be
the occasion of a real treat for Sen

for so popular an institution.
In the intrusi?n ol' a third and out
side party upon ibo family tilt be
tween Richland, Bounty Hand and
Seneca correspondents to Tb.. Cou
rier, WC are reminded of nu occasion
when a man and bis wile were hav
ing a bunt and a neighbor interfered.
Result: Thc man and wife turned in
and gave Ibo neighbor what he de
served, ?i sound thrashing. Now we
are willing to quarrel as mindi as wc
please among ourselves, but outsiders
must ho hands-off or brook serious
consequences! If Richland's fertile
soil produces garden sage, broomsnge
i ' i and tho kind of sage that goes in
sausage, why not a Harton sage?
There's no "dog-in-the-manger" self
ishness about this correspondent
from Seneca. If Seneca cannot fur
nish a sage, we are willing that Oco
noe do. even if tho honor be claimed
h.v a Richland suburbanite. Bul for
downright genius that nnoymous skit
from Richland takes tho cake!
The preliminary debate between
six young ladies of tho high school
drew a packed house last Friday
night. The subject." Resolved. That
the United Stales should have woman
suffrage." was splendidly contested,
and the replies were particularly
good. Tho judges, who were Revs.

of Seneca, and Prof. Calhoun of
Clemson, gave Ibo question to the af

and Ikey will con tesl for the Dovlo
medal al the (dose of school. The
preliminary debate for the boys will
be held soon, when three ot thom will
also be selected for tho final debate.
The music program for Friday even

Mr. Greer rendered the judges' de
