SOFT COKE
Like the running brook, the
red blood that flows through
the veins has to come from
somewhere.
The springs o? red blood are
found in the soft core of the
bones called the marrow and
some say red blood also comes
from the spleen. Healthy bone
marrow and healthy spleen
are full of fat.
Scott's Emulsion makes new
blood by feeding the bone
marrow and the spleen with
the richest of all fats, the pure
cod liver oil.
For pale school girls and
invalids and for all whose
blood is thin and pale, Scott's
Emulsion is a pleasant and rich
blood food. It not-only feeds
the blood-making organs but
gives them strength to do
their proper work.

The Loyal Temperance Lesion.
There waa no meeting of the L. T. L.
last Sunday afternoon, owing to the sud
den illness of Mrs. Kay, who has been
oonduoting tho meetings for Mra. S. N.
Pitchford, the loader, until ahe ia able to
tako them in charge herself. The ohll
dren were no doubt very much diaap
pointed, as they had expeotod to receive
thoir badges and some new books on that
day. We hope that Mrs. Kay will soon
bo in good health again, and that there
will be nothing to prevent a full attend
ance of all tho members at the noxt meet
ing, whioh will be held noxt Sunday
afternoon at 6 o'clock at the usual placo.
Let eaoh member try to bring others and
get them to join tho society.
We wore pleased to enroll six boys BB
members at the last meeting. While wo
are always glad to BOO the glrlB, yet, for
obvious reason B, we wish tho boys espe
cially to come. So far the girls have been
very muon in the majority. The boys
should not let the girls get ahead of them
in good works.
i Sam Jones says that "one reason why
I bei n is no marrying nor giving in mar
riage in heaven is because there are so
many moro women than men up there
that if eaoh woman was required to have
a husband tho men would have to ho
Mormons, as there wouldn't be enough
of them to go around." It ia to be hoped
that bois mistaken, but it certainly doos
look as if there was a Btrong probability
of his being right whon you go toohuroh,
or prayor meeting, or any religious gath
oring and compare the number of women
with tho number of men.
If the paren!-, will only do thoir duty
in regard to these meetings by giving tho
children permission, thoy will all bo
protty suro to oomo. Young peoplo aro
generally ready for a diversion of any
kind-hence tho nooossit y of providitlg
thom with a "diversion'' of tho right
kind-especially on Sunday afternoons.
There is too much Sabbath-breaking
going on thoso days, and ion littlo "re
membering to keep the day holy," as we
are commanded to do. Tho "American
Sabbath" will ono day he a thing of the
past if wo are not, as a peoplo, more care
ful about how wo spend tho day-and it
will bo a dreadful thing for the country
if that ever happons.
r*'A Sabbath well spent briners a week of content,
Anti strength for tho tolls of tbo morrow;
Hut a Sabbath profaned, whatever ?H gained,
Is a euro forerunner of sorrow."
Tho young people can certainly spend
their timo pleasantly and profitably at
t bese meetings, and eternity will bring
them no regret for having attended

The Temperance Lecture.
Wo will head our column this week
with gratitude and thauks to Kev. B. L.
Padgett for his good and touching lee
turo on temperance last Saturday after
noon in tho Court House. Wo havo
heard some of tho drinking mon remark
that it was the most touching lecturo
thoy had over heard, aud wo trust that
t hese men will soon realize how many
Christian hearts aro pleading to tho
Groat Modintor for the uplifting of suffer
ing humanity, and we will bo glad whon
all the Christian people get into high I
thinking and pure living, and lot our
morning prnyor close with tho words of
the Psalmist : "Create within mo a clean
heart, O Qed, and renew a right spirit
within mo. Let tho words of my mouth
and tho meditations of my heart he ac
ceptable in thy si oh t, O Lord, my strength
and my Redeemer I" w. c. T. U.
