Two Good Sermons.
Bov. N. B. Clarkson, of Bichburg, S. C.,
preached ill tho Walhalla Metho
dist, church on last Sunday morning and
evening, at tho usual hours, two SOUl
stirring, edifying and uplifting sermons.
In his morning discourse ho presented -
tho Gospol of tho Lord Jesus Christ
forcibly and convincingly. Ho mado it
quito clear from his reasoning and deduc
tions that Christ died to savo tho wholo
world, and thnt mau was mado a froo
moral agent and had au important part
to perform in saving his soul. His toxt
for tho morning discourso was from tho
tllild chapter of .lohn and sixteenth
verso: "Por God so loved tho world that
ho gavo his only begotten Hon, that who
soovor bolioveth in him should not por- :
ish, but havo everlasting lifo." Ho ,
preached at night from tho twelfth chap
ter of Bomana first and socond versos :
"I beseech you thoreforo, brothrou, by ,
tho mercies of God, that yo prosont your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, accoptablo
unto God, which is your reasonable sor- .
vico. And bo not conformed to this
world, but bo yo transformed by tho ro
nowing of your mind, that yo may provo
what is that good, and accoptablo and
perfect will of Cod." Mr. Clarkson
elaborated profoundly and interestingly
his toxt, showing that God was not
pleased with dead sacrifices any longer,
