to a close Monday afternoon in order

We have, also, by a committee of our
body, made a thorough examination of
the poor house and tar n. We lind thal
there are eighteen inmates ol tho poor
house who are all well eared for by the
steward. The poor house and farm are
both in tine condit ion, and the steward
is doing as good work as wc could ask
for. '1 ho steward bas succeeded well in

lion. There are, however, three build
lugs on the premises thal are bailly in
need of recovering, and wc recommend
that t be County Supervisor and County
Commissioners have this needed Work
done at as carly a time as can bc conven

Some complaint has been made to ns
that lines have been collected by some

to thc Auditor or paid to the Trcasurci.

Mr. .las. K. Kayne, a saw mill man and
[armor, died at his homo in tho Koturu
neighborhood last Thursday. Mr. Payne
liad lived in this community a groat
many years and was known by many
