Kilburn, of tho Macon (fla.) livening News, has our thanks for a fae simile of tho famous Confederate Voto rans' badge which was worn by President MoKinley on his visit to that city last Docembor. Tho badge was pinned on tho lapel of the President's coat by an old soldier. lt has been copyrighted hy tho Macon Nows and is being sold exten sively as a relic. Tho badgo was gotten up in the Nows office and is of admira ble design. It contains a quotntion from tho President's Atlanta speooh, in which ho spoko of tho national caro of Con federate soldiors' graves. It is sur mounted by a bust likeness of Mr. Mc Kinley, and bears the following inscrip tion: "WolcomoI Bibb County Camp, No. 484, Confederate Veterans, Macon, fla., December 10th, 1808." Tho whole is neatly printed on a picco of asuro tint silk ribbon and pinned to a doublo bow knot of red, white and bluo ribbon. Al together it is a very innocent looking badge, and thc spirit in which it was pre sented to tho President cannot but he admired by every true American. Com ing spontaneously from a Camp of Con federate Votorans, in extending a wel come to the President as an honored guest so soon after hi? celebrated utter ance, it constituted aunhjue and striking recognition of tho prosonco of their dis tinguished guest.
