Otto Von Bismarck, tho "iron chancel
lor," died peacefully at his castlo at 10
minutes past ll o'clock Saturday night.
Tho prince was unconscious for soveral
hours heforo his death, and his breath
almost failed repeatedly. Ifo died with
out a struggle. Dr. Sohwoningor, tho
prince's physician, and members ol the
family, were present when tho end carno.
Death was not wholly unexpected, but
two days bet?re the cud tho physician
stated that Bismarck would probably
roach 90 years of ago.
Hismarck's death wan not precipitated
by sudden complications, but wns rather
tho culmination of chronic disonsos
neuralgia of the faco and inflammation
of tho voins-which kept him in constant
pain, that wan borne with tho iron forti
tude which might have been oxpectcd.
