You well remember how, dear Jauo,
You had to help me through,

To bo both good und true,
And how tho parson, dearest Jauo,
Did moko us man and wifo.
i Kineo that wo have gooo erm and arm
Along the path of life!
I nover have regretted, dear,
Tho vow whioh I then took,

As taught io 'tho good book.
Our boy is now a man, dear Jane,
And soon will ehoosa a wifo,

As I havp had through lifo.

In that dear loud of rest,
I know your record Ibero will stand
Among tho very best.

Worth Her Weight in Gold
A fow years ago a steamer was coming
from California. Tho ory of "Fire ! fire !"
suddenly thrilled overy heart. Every effort
was mado to slay thc flumes, but in vain.
Tho burning mass was headed for shoro,
whioh was not far off. A passenger was
soon buokling his bolt of gold around his
waist, toady to plunge into tho waves.
Just theo a pleading voioo arrested him
with:
??Pleaso, sir, oan you swim?"
A child's bluo eyes were piercing into
his deepest soul os ho looked down upon
hor.
.'Yes, child, I can swim."
"Well, sir, won't you please sivo mc?"
"I oonnot do both," ho thought. "I
must Havo tho child and loso tho gold.
But a moment ago L was anxious for tho

Unbuckling tho belt ho quickly oast it

'.Yes, litt lo girl; I will try to savo you."
Stooping down, ho bado her clasp her
arms around his neck.
"Thus, child," said ho-"not so tight
as to ohoko mc. There, hang on now, and
I will try to make tho land
Tho child bowed herself on his broad
shoulders nod dung to her deliverer.
With a heart thrice strengthened and un

shoro. Wavo nftor wavo washed over
thom. Still tho bravo mau held out and
the dear child held on, until a mighty
mountain billow swept tho sweet troasuru
from his ombrnoo and oust him senseless on
tho bleak rooks. Kind hands ministered
^ut to him. Recovering his consciousness tho

How many bones in tho palm of thc baud?
Five iu each with many a bund.
How many bones in tho fingers ten?

How many bones in thc leg from the kucei

And now wo may rest, for we've told them

How aro you living now? Thc
question is not, how clo you pro

would impress tho thought tba
such delay is fraught with a two

every day's delay is making i
