third Sunday in May of any consequence.

turned out vory well on tho Ridgo. Messrs.
Dickson, Glenn, Sheldon & McJunkin hnvo
boen running their propelling engine, thresh*
ing wheat from house to house, last week and
this; also St ri blin g & Brothers woro on hand
with their rod now thresher with a similar
engino to Dickson & Co.'s. Both companies

well for themselves and accommodating thc
farmers in first rate order, and in an expe
ditious matt nor. Praise is duo to both
threshers for thoir success and thanks to
thoir owners for first coming to our Nubbin

is about to got him in trouble. He boasted

dollar. Tho creditors have held n meeting
und decided that he acted in bad faith, ?nos
much as ho suddenly left tho oity without
moking any provision for a settlement.
Afterwords ho offcrod a compromiso of 50
cents on tho dollar, whioh they indignantly
refused. They say they will hove oil or
loso nil. It is said that Mr. liirnie has
commenced suit against Mr. Williams for
du tu ages to r. Iorgo amount. A correspon
dent of the Constitution, writing from
New York, accuses Mr. Williams of crook
edness in this whole offiir. That is about
tho way tho matter stands. When the
