Our County Auditor has furnishod us with
tho following interesting statoraont in regard
to our taxos ia tho past and tho present: Tax
able proporty in tho County in 1875-70,
amounted to $1,777,120. Tho Stato tax on
this was $19,548.32; County tax on same was
$0,098.48; total tax $20,546.80. The taxable
proporty of tho County in 1870-77 amounts
to $1,741,104. State tax on this foots up
$12,187.72; County tax on santo is $5,223.31;
total tax, $17,411.03. Diff?rence between
the Chamberlain Government in favor of tho
Hampton Govornmont is $9,135.77. Corn"
sot is unnecessary. Tho abovo figures speak
for themselves.
We learn that a mad dog was killed on last

SAN FRANCISCO, June 22.-Advices from
Walla Walla state Indians killed every man
on tho Salmon Uiver, but spared the women
and children. Tho Indiana have got the best
of tho soldiers. Up to this time, they have
killed about thirty and driven them baok from
White Hird to Mount Idaho. The killed and
wounded up to this time is about fifty troops.
It will take 500 soldiers to whip Joseph's
band.
