Miller, toller in the branch of the I'nion Hank at Jackson, Tenn., had been killed Thursday night, and tin: bank robbed of a largo amount of money. It seems that the deceased slept in a room in thebaukiiig house, adjoining the vault, and that a villian, or villians, acquainted with the affairs of the institution, consummated their plans for the murder of the teller and the robborv of the vimlt ? ? - nun; but too faithfully curried out. Wo. have but few details of the diabolical transaction, and know ncthing of the particulars of Mr. .Miller's death beyond the fact that the instrument used by the murderers was the cancelling hammer belonging to the bank, and the. fatal wound was inllictcd upon the head of the deceased, who, when found, was quito dead and weltering in his own gore. Dikd of Starvation?A Sad Affair. | ?The Cleveland IMaindcalcr records the following as occurring in that city : A worthy woman named Little died of starvation on the West Side, on Friday ; night. She leaves four children, the eldest of whom is a little girl only eight years old. The woman's husband is in the penitentiary at Columbus, for passing counter; feit money. 11 is sentence expires in March ! next. The little girl above mentioned has been in the habit of calling at a gentleman's office on this side of the river during the " winter to beg money to buy bread for her mother, and brothers and sisters, letter ly she had said her mother was unwell.?
