Kc terred to Ihp committee 011 Military Affairs. Mr. Butler introduced a bill to change the times of holding the criminal court of the District of Columbia. Mr. Gwin introduced a resolution directing an inquiry into the expediency of increasing the salaries of the Judges of the Northern and Southern districts of California. Mr. //ale moved to amend by inserting vand the salary of the district Judge in New '.Hampshire,' which was agreed to, and t e resolution was agreed to. After several ineffectual motions to take up particular bills, the committee rose.
