head of 50,000 men, after four days hard
fighting. The Imperialists have raised
the siege of Pctsh. Marian has been
evacuated,

government, announcing that the
Hungarian army, on the 15th, marched <
upon Wartzcn, and were repulsed by the
Rusr.ians, who fell back-as the enemy advanced.
The next day they attacked
Georgy, who occupied a strong position I
before Wartzcn, with 4-1,000 men, and !
120 pieces of artillery. The cannonading '
on both Bides was tremendou3, but the ]
Hungarians remained masters of the field. I
On the 16th, the main body of the Rus- <
sian army was brought up. Un the 17 th <
they attacked Wartzcn, and notwithstand- .
ing the desperate resistance of the Hun- <

held in London, to express the public '

proposed to aid Hungary by taking up
arms, the meeting rose as one man, and
gave a warlike yell of approbation. The

The Sardinians arc delaying the treaty
of pence with Austria, with the supposed

French President to settle the difficulties.
Venice still holds out gnllantly against
fearful odds.
Berious disturbances exist among the

determined to withdraw from the ranks

Suppositions arc entertained thatian
extensively organized legitimist conspiracy
is in existence.
It is announced that the troops who
hitd embarked after Rome surrendered,
have re-embarked for their original destinations.
Rome is tranquil under Oudinot's mini

Pope's name, he remaining at Gaetn until
the accouchment of the Queen of Na

The news by the Br. Steamer Cambria
has reached here. There has, as yet,
been nothing done in Cotton. Holders
are asking extreme prices.
The brig P. Son/e, from Havana, just
arrived, confirms the report brought by
the steamer Trent respecting Hoy, the
abducod Spaniard. The Captain of the
Sonic states that he conversed with the
American Consul, who says that Hey
was satisfied with his position at Havana.
