Alabama St., Atlant.a, Ga. "Springfiefd" Burned~ The residence of the late Judge ,John Bolton O'Neal~l, two muil.es from the Court House, was burned down Satur day morning about 1 o'clock. The bouse was one of the old landmarks of Newberry. It was boilt for Judge D'Neall'in 1828 by Mr. Phil. Schoppert, one of the best builders Newberry has ever known.- Notwithstanding its age it was in good repair. The house was two stories anid a half high and contain ed thirteen rooms. .Judge O'Neall oc supied the house from the time it was ompleted in 1828 until his death, D)e ember, 1863. Since his death the pro perty has passed through several bands; it now belongs to-Mrs. Thos. F.. Har mon. The house was insured about,. a month. ago in the Georgia Home and the. Watertown. Insurance Companies Messrs. Mower & Jones, Agents,) for 9,500. Mr. Hlarmon estimates his loss at $1,500 over bis insurance. The origin of the fire is veiled in mys tery.
