of Mrs. Rob't Holman, which sad ever
occurred on Friday evening last. Sh
had been sick for about five weeks, an
her sufferings were great, but wit

Mrs. Holman was in her 46th year, wi

a serenade on Thursday night at Posi

Pursuant to a call heretofore published, a
mass meeting of the citizens of this County
was held at 11 o'clock a. m. , in Temperance
Hall. On motion, Capt. J. N. Lipscomb was
called to the Chair and 0. L. Schampert re
quested to act as Secretary, The Chair then
briefly stated teobject of the meeting, and
in order to carry into effect said object, Y. J.
Pope, Esq., thereupon moved th..t a commit
tee of one from each township be appointed
to nominato three deleg::tes and three alter
nates from this body to meet tbe State Con
vention wh ich assembles in Colnmbia on the
8:h inst. Under this resolution the following
gentclemen were elected: Messrs. Jas. N.
Lipscomb, Joseph Caldwell and William Ray.

S. Hair and E S. Keitt, alternates.

celerity and certainty with which the Bitters
afford reliet in chronic cases of dyspepsia,
torpidity of the liver and constipation. The

ever since the principle of renovation, as em
bodied in Hostetter s Stomach Bitters, was

surely fallen into deserved contempt. The
outcry against stimulation by which con
coctors of depleting drenches hoped to give
eclat to their disgusting and dangerous com
pounds has only served to increase the de
mand for the wholesome stimulants, tonic and
alterative which for twenty-five years has tri
umphed over all opposition and is now the
most popular medicine in the Western hem
