be the skirmish line of the pie hunters,
and poori robin red breaist is having a
hard time of it. Every boy that can
point a gun is out on the watch and is
dealing death to the hungry birds. If
one did not know wihat was the matter
he would think thi. a dangerous place,
judging fromi the brisk firing that is
kept up. But the birds don't seem to
care, for their numbers are increasing,!
and the boys don't care either, for robin
pie is good.

A CHANGE AND A GOOD IDEA.
Our enterprising merchant, J. D. Cash,
has furnished up the store room between
R. S-. Chiek's and Lovelace & Wheceler's
preparatory to moving into it. This
removal, however, will be but tenm
porary, as he contemplates building a
brick store upon the spot wvhich he lately
occupied. Good, we hope his example
wvill be followed by others on that row.
Brick store houses along there would
~better the looks of the town, make it
safer in time of fire and diminish the
:anuont paid for insurance, or rather.
render ft possible for the merchants of
that row to Ianure.
