ceremonies of the Lutheran Sunday
School scholars. It was a pretty sight,
the Tree loade-d with presents for
sbolars, and the crownin of the cross
with roses, each rose bieing presenIted
with an1 alppropriaite verse from the
Bible containing an allusion to Ilowers,
and to tis was added. beautuf'ul songs
byV the entire school, wvnhi delighted the
ea:.
We wVere no less pleaIsed inl attend(ing4
the Tree of the Presbyterian Sundayv
School, at the Town Hall, on the eve
ling of thle 2't1. We arrived late and
found it impossible to get a seat, :uud
failed to hear the music, and we feel
ptnishedt for our taridiness. When wve
a:rived,l O)ld Kris Kringle, wvith his
wintryv lock, .low4in-" down his sh1oulders-5
wa danucing around the bmt dened Tree
to tihe tinkling of mierry hells which
hung about his person, and distributing
the pretty pr1esents. After the dispen
sion of the older p)ortionl of the audience
the young folks remained to have a~ little
more fun-aLnd they hatd it. When the
soiree endhed it lacked seventeeni nyanlte's
to twvelve o'clock, byv our reporter's
dumbhi watch, which lhe received from
the Tree, and the little child. otherwiee
known as Heart's Treasure, was' resting
as cahly as a hickory nut in a bundle
of rags.
