Gen. Garlingtou a Dramatist.
We notice in our exchanges that
our esteemed ex-citizen Gen. Garling
ton, now a resident of Atlanta, Ga..
and in the successful practice of his
profevsion, has found time to devote
to other Pursuits, and Ias writteu -
drama of high merit, embracing the
period of Butler's reign in New Or

public, being now in course of publi
cation.
Good for Abbeville.
Among our exchanges this week is
a copy of Fowler's Bazaar of Fash
icn. literature and art, a very elegant
and fascinating paper, in that it re
stes to and is filled with fashion de.
signs, and many other things which
ladies are always delighted to read
about, or look at. It is published by
Messrs. J. W. Fowler & Co., the eu
terp.siAng ,ry Goods, Millinery and
Dress Making firm cf the town of Ab
beville, and is furrished by this go
ahead house at the low price of $1 per
annum.

Brain- Wastiag.
An interesting and practical course
of elinical lectures on mental and cere

Crichton Brown. M. D., Lecturer ou
Miental Diseases to the Leeds School

fromn this disease more frequently and
ranidly than men. 2. The earlier the
age at which brain-wasting occurs, the
better is the prospect of recovery. 3.
The more decided the paralytic symp
toms the more is the prospect of re
covery. Hie also says we owe a debt
'af gratitude to Dr. Radclitie for point

brain-wasting. A tablespoonful of
cod-liver oil, and fifteen graius of the
hypoph..aphite of soda. given t.wice or

a case, often arrest at once the down
