ment. I cannot go Into detaIls, but as ai
instanco: I have land at my home place tha
4 years ago it took 20 acres to make 3 bale
of cotton, now, after the free use of Fertili
zers for three years, will produce a .ale o
cotton of 400 lbs. to each acre, and some o
it more, and last year 5 acres of it yielded
160 bushels Wheat. The last two seasons
have puarchamsed from your firm, aotme 7
yons Fertilizers, and can recommend thI
Carolina Fertilizer, PaelficGaano and laungha
law Bone, all of which I believe to be excel
lent manures and fully up to what they ar
represented to be.

to the merit' of the Carolina Fertilizer an<
othmer Giuamnos, purchased froam Cairwile e
bleCaughrin last Spring, amounting in all to
about ten Tons, I take pleasure in makina
the fullowing statements:
On 6 anasea upland. light, sandy soil,
used 250 hbs. Carolina Fertilizer per acre, an<t
gathered from each, 2,300 lbs. seed cotton o
13 800 Ibs in all.
On 25 acres upland, of the same kind e
soil, I used Guano's in about the same pro
portion, and male from this fleld about 1
b.iles lint cotton per acre, or 37 bales in all
each weighing over 400 lbs.
For the preparing and cultivation of thes
lands I followed the same plain as recomn
mended in my report on (kotton to the Agri
cntural Society, in Columbia, on 9ith Nov.
1869.
I also believe, from my pa"t experience I1
the ue of Fertilizers, that they are proaitabi
with Coattmn a, 10 to 121c. per le. , and wi
paty at these prices cit least 100 per cent. o
amount invested.
