THERE IS NO DEATH.
DY alit IIt LwHR LYTTON.
4 rl no death I The stam go down
* T upon soine fairer shore ;
right, in Ieaven's jewelled crown
ere shine for evermore.
Tro s no death! The dust we tread
.Shjaill change beneath the sittuer show
'1d golden grain or nellow fruit,
'Or talln-bow tinted flowers.
Tihe graitle rocks disorganize
To feed tho imngry plantts they bear
The f'orest lea ves drink daily life
From out the voieelesss air.
There Is no death I The leaves may fall,
The leaves may finie and pass away ;
They only wait through wintry hours
The conming of the May.
There is no deatlh I An angel forum
Walks o'er tihe earth in "ilent treal;
11e bears uur best loved tiigs away,
And then we call them 'ieatd.'
lie leaves out hearts all desolate,
lielpless our fatirest, sweetest flowers;
Transplanleal into bliss, they now
'Adori immortal bowers.
The bird like voice, i hose joyous tones
Matle gl.il these scenes of sim agind strife,
Sings now an everlasting song
Amid the tree of-life.
And where he sees a smile so bright
Or heart too pore for sin and vice,
lie bears it to that world of light,
To dwell in Pardise.
Born ito that milying lift',
They leav "e its ignt to come ngain
VithI joy we welcome Ihem-the sanie,
Except in sint iml pain.
Anda ever near n!, though useen,
The dcar inmortal spirits Iread

swinging at a furiotus rato at the
Woburn Station, where tho train
stOps for water. The light would
sotntimes bo in front and somo
times in tho rear of tho train.
When the engineer would stop
his train and send some ono to
learn why the signal to stop was
made, the mossonger woutld be
greatly surprised to soo the light
vanish. Investigation has proved
that no person wIs there with a
lantern, and the brakeman and
conductor Concunr also in having
beheld the phenomona, which, so
far as known, is without visible
cause. Some laborers living on
the line of the above station, state
that, a fow mornings since thmey
were coming down the road in a
hand car, when they suddenly heard
the- approach of an engine and
traiin, and kntowing that no train
was due in the vicinity at that
hour, they became grently fright

thrtow it, off tho track to await the
