Notice to the People of
Newberry County.
Pursuant to the requirements of the Act
of the Legislature, defining the jurisdiction
and powers of County Commissioners,
passed at the special session of the Legisla
ture and ratified in September last. The
County Commissioners for Newberry County
have divided said County into eleven Towns
ships, numbered, named and bounded as fol"
lows, to wit: Township No. 1, designated
as Newberry Township, including the town
of Newberry, is bounded by straight lines as
follows, commencing at Cappleman's and
running to H. H1. Folk's, thence to Senn's
Mills on Bush River, thence to the ford on
Timothy Creek on the Stony Battery Road,
and thence, to the beginning at Capplemans.
Township No. 2, designated Caldwell's
Township, is bounded by straight lines, as
foliows, commencing at H. H. Folk's nmd
running to Avory's Ford. on Enoree River,
thence to the Ashford Ferry Road, at the
tweive mile post, thence to Cappleman's,
and thence, to the beginning at H. H. Folk's.
Township No. 3, design..ted as Mavbin,
ton Township, is bounded by straight lines,
as follows, commencing at Avory's Ford,'on
Enoree River, and running to the twelve
mile post, on the Ashford Ferry Road, thence
with said road to Ashford's Ferry on Broad
River, thence up said River td the mouth of
the ryger, thence up the Tyger River to
old Ford, and thence with the
County line to Avory's Ford on Enoree
River. -
Township No. 4, designated Cromer's
Township, is bounded by the following lines,
commencing at Avory's 'Ford on Enoree
River, and running to H. H. Folk's, thence
to the Laurens line ' at 'William Youngs,
thence with the County line to Enorce River,
and thence, down said river to Avory's Ford.
Township No. 5, designated Reeder's
f ownship, is hounded by lines as follows,
commencing at H. H. Folk's and running to
the Laurens line at William Young's, thence
with the County line between Newberry and
Laurens to Bush River, thence down said
river to Senn's Mills, and thence . to begin,
