Gold 521 The commencement exercises of the Lau rensville Female College, which recently came off, were an honor to the District, and all con neeted with that excellent seat of learning. Fifteen thousand negroes have died of the cholera in Guadaloupe, and the sugar crop will probably be 6hort for want of hands to gather it. Twelve hundred dogs were killed at New York last week Card-Goods at Cost. The remnant of the stock of R. B. Holman & Co., having been purchased by the subscri ber, he will close them out at cost, at the old stand of Williams & Ferguson, No 2 Mollohon Row. Public attention is called to the fact that the goods will be sold at cost and bargains may be had. We feel very':thankful to our friends, and the public generally, for the liberal patronage so kindly extended to us heretofore, and hope by strict attention to business &c., to merit a continuance of the same.
