Infection and Insect Bites
Dangerous.
Mosquitoes, flies and other inseots,
which breed quickly in garbage pails,
ponds of stagnant water, Darns, musty
places, etc., are carriers of disease.
Every time they bite you, they inject
poison into your system from which
some dread disease may result. Get
a bottle of Sloan's Liniment. It is
antiseptic and a few drops will neutralize
the infection caused by insect
bitss or rusty nails. Sloan's Liniment
disinfects Cuts, Bruises and Sores.
You cannot afford to be without it in
your home. Money back if not satisfied.

New School House Burned.
Early Sunday morning the new
$3,000 school house at Lindler's near
Ballentine was destroyed by fire. There
was no insurance. West Bickley, a
farmer, living near the school, was
arrested charged with having set the
school on fire. The school was just
recently completed and the furniture
had been in it about 30 hours.
Constipation Causes} Sickness
Don't permit your^f to become
constipated, as your system immediately
begins to absorb'poison from the
hacked-up waste matter. Use Dr.
King's New Life Pills and keep well.
There is no better safeguard against
illness. Just take one dose to-night.

Two New Bales
Newberry, Aug. 20.?Newberry's first
bale of cotton was ginned yesterday
at the Farmers' oil mill. It belongs to
John A. Senn and weighs 465 pounds.
The second bale, belonging to John C.
Hipp, was ginned there this morning,
its weight being 450 pounds. Ootton is
opening rapidly. The crop is promising.
Not So Strange After All.
You may think it strange that so
many people are cured of stomach
trouble by Chamberlain's Tablets.
You would not, howeyer, if you should
give them a trial. They strengthen
and invigorate the stomach and enable
it to perform its functions naturally.
Mrs. Rosie]Rish, Wabash, Ind., writes,
"Nothing'did me the least good until
I began using Chamberlain's Tablets.
It is decidedly the best medicine for
stomach trouble I have ever used."

Electrocuted.
Rock Hill, August 22.?J. M.
Matthews, aged about 60, was electrocuted
in his grist mill, near Ebenezer,
fco-day about noon. Not coming to
dinner one of his family went to the
mill and found him dead with both
feet burned off and one hand burning.
Evidently he caught a wire overhead
and reached forward to turn off the
switch with the other hand, and that
hand slipping caught another wire.
He leaves two sons and several brothers
and sisters in this State and
Arkansas.
The Case of L. L. Cantelcu.
The case of L. L. Cantelou, Clarendon,
Texas, is similar to that of many
others who have used Chamberlain's
Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy.
He says, "After trying a doctor tor
several months, and using different
kinds of medicine for my wife who
had been troubled with severe bowel
complaint for several months, I bought
a 2oc bottle of Chamberlain's Colic,
Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy. After
using the second bottle she was entirely
cured." For sale by All

Onion as Medicine
A Northern scientist-now comes forward
to defend the onion, which, he
says, is a real specific for colds. All
one has to do when his eyes begin to
water and his nose to run is to eat
onions, and the trouble will go arc ay.
Of course, his friend9 will go away,
too, at least temporarily, but that does
not argue that the onion isn't good
medicine.
