Nora Taylor, who gave to North Carolina

^ennetfcsville, May 29.?Yesterday
afternoon the southbound passenger
train of the Bennettsvilie and Cheraw
railroad ran over a little negro, Silas
Williams, killing him almost instantly.
The coroner's jury, after examining
three railroad employees and Dr. D.
D. Strauss, who saw the child some
time after it was dead, returned a verdict
saying that Silas Williams came
to his death by being accidentally run
oter by a Bennettsvilie and Cheraw
train and through his own carelessness.

Finds Wife Dead and Kills
Himself.
Macon, Ga., May 27.?A. J. Chapman,
40 years old, who has operated a
grocery in this city for the past five
years, was so grieved over the discovery
of his wife'9 dead body in their
home today that he fired a bullet into
Khis brain and died almost instantly.
The coroner found that Mrs.* Chapman's
death was from natural causes.
She had become ill and her son, Clarence,
hastened out for a doctor. While
'the son was g6ne, Chapman aifca his
brother-in-law, F. R. Christian, entered
the home and discovered the body.
Christian told the coroner that Chapman
acted like a madman when he
discovered his wife was dead and
' knocked him ever on the floor in his
haste to rush across the room. When
Christian was rising from the floor he
saw Chapman standing with a pistol
pointed at his temple and before he
could reach Chapman the latter had
shot himself. When Chapman's son
entered the room a minute later with
a doctor both parents were dead,

who was charged with the murder of
the father, mother and brother of his
wife and who since his arrest in Kentucky
several months ago has been
feigning insanity, today was convicted
and sentenced to life imprisonment.
The jury reached the verdict without

announced Baxter dropped his role of
