The farmers in this part of the connty seem to be in a great rash now with the planting of their cotton. Oat crops are looking fairly well. Onr school which was being successfully taught by Miss Viola Sharpe, came to a clo?e last Friday. The exercises were splendid. We regret to give up our old teacher, but we hope to have her with us again this summer. Mr. Walter 0. Pooie and family have moved into their new home in our midst and we extend to them a happy welcome. We are glad, indeed., to see Mrs. Annie Frick so much improved as to be able to be up after a severe spell of sickness. Miss Grace Boz&rd, a charming young lady of the Four Holes section, is spending some time with her sister, Mrs. E. O. Sharpe. Mr. Innis Garten and "other half" spent Saturday night at the home of Mr. Jasper J. Boles. Mrs. Maggie O'Brien was the gnest Saturday night and Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Peel. Mr. Philip Corbitt, of Sally, accompanied by his cousin, Mr. Robert Atwie, spent wie weuK-euu uu mo Edisto visiting relatives. We were glad to see in Swansea a few days ago, our senator, W. H. Sharpe. . Mrs. Ollie Schoenberg, who has been by the bedside of her sick aunt, down on Ball Swamp, returned home one day last week. Prof. Hafos Hallman and Messrs. Elzie and Oliver Hallman, of Gilbert, spent a recent Sunday in our midst and we hope to have them again soon. Mr. and Mrs. V. H. O'Brien, of Woodford, were visitors Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. F. L. O'Brien. Uncle Dick Peel spent Sunday with his daughter, Mrs. Willie M. Laird. Messrs. Geo. W. Jefcoat, C. F. Staley, the efficient mail carrier on rout3 1, Woodford, has purchased an automobile., Oa last Tuesday night- the barn and stables of Mrs. Stella Axon were destroj-ed by fire. Schoenberg and family attended the funeral of their uncle, Mr. Jack Hydrick, at Trinity Methodist church.
