Lynch's home, one of the landmarks
of Edgefield, was completely destroyed
by fire about 10 o'clock tonight.
The fire, which spread with great
rapidit;- originated in the bath room,
being aased , by the exolosion of a
kerosene stove. Practically none cf
i the household furniture was saved.

hold-up in the centre of Atlanta's
business section today netted a well
dressed stranger forty-five dollars
of the funds of Jeffer-on Loan Society.
The robber entered the company's
place of business at fifty-nine*. North
Forsyth street shortly before noon,
covered I. Steinburg, a clerk, with a
revolver, and forced him to surrender
the money in the cash drawer.
He then commanded him to open
the safe.
"I'll die first/'Steinberg told him.
''Oh, if ycu want- to fight about it, I'll
go," said the stranger, backing out of
the doc r.
Several pedestrians saw him replace
the revolver in his pocket and quickly
disappeared around the corner.

Seismic Tremors in Five
States.
Seismic shocks, light but distinct
were felt late Thursday in many cities
and towns of Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama
and the Carolir.as. At many
points business buildings and resdcncc-:

at Mobile, the tremors were
light but rapid, indicating that the
disturbance was not far distant. Heports
