The State Pair is at|3|pw trading Immense crowds to her eu! viroir.ments and her people are doing themselves proud in taking care of the throngs of visitors and eager sightseers who pour in on each ingoing train. The chy is bestirring ic-e.t *? . with attractions in addition to the big State Pair, music festivals end eoraiv ' vals are to be seen on alt sides ana and almost-everychiug to entertain the visitors is evidenced.. The students of jgf the various State institutions of learning are there ai:d one of the big features of the week will be the .ootbali game pulled off between Clemson and Carolina at the fair gronnd. Mr. G. B. Wingard, one of our most progressive farmers, sent some peauucs and popcorn 50 the National Corn exposition. The decision shows that Mr. Wingard is the champion peannr raiser of South Carolina and the United States. He will send an exhibit to the State fair next week, and it is expected that he will be the wearer of the ermine, after it is over, especially in the peanut department. Mr. S. L. Bawl, another one of onr pioneer planters, has stood in the forefront at varions expositions. It is said that he may nave tne greatest display of individual farm products ever .shown by on* person at a Southern fair. For more than fifteen years Mr. Bawl has been an exhibitor at the < State fair and has been one of the X. greatest exhibitors at onr county fair jinnee its matriculation.
