News From Swansea.
The principal social event which
has occurred here in some time was
the miscellaneous shower given by
Miss Providence Graham on Satnrd&y
afternoon from 3:30 till 7 for Mrs.
William B. Courtney, one of the fall
brides. The guests were greeted by
Miss Graham and Mrs. Courtney and
then served with delioions fruit punch
from a pretty appointed table in the
hall by little Misses Grace Oliver and
Myrtle decklay. They were then
ahown into the parlor and a contest,
'Sweethearts," was entered into. It
waS found .that Miss Ruth Oliver had
given the most correct ans vers and
*he prize, a beautiful picture, was
presented to her by Miss Ethel Brooker.
Bach guest was asked to write a rule

they provoked much laughter by their
originality and practicability. Master
Thomas Oliver cams in at this time
with his express wagon fall of packages
for the charming bride. It was
