week. He is bright as a cricket and
knows his work well.
Mr. W. H. Sill, of Bates burg, visited
his brother-in-law, Mr. D. R. Haltiwanger
yeeterday and he gave us a

Misses Ruth and Ellie Haltiwanger
returned last week from a ten days
trip to Baltimore and Washington
delighted with their trips.
Mr. Frank Corley, of the Midway
section, hale and hearty, whc looks as
if he enjoys his own hams and lives
where there is plenty, was here Saturday.
We are sorry to note the illness of

home near the Mineral springs. He
was taken with a stroke of apoplexy
one day last week. Wc hope he will
soon "be restored to his health.
Messrs. Lawton Jefcoat and M. C.
Kirkland from down on the Edit-to,
were up yesterday in the Superintendent
of Education's office trying to
settle some school matters in their
school district.
