Asbill and daughter, Miss Elbert a, and nephew, Pickens Asbill, and Mr. Henry Bodie attended the Titman-Asbill marriage at Lowryville. Rev. F. M. Hauser, well known foi -v his connection with fancy poultry, has assumed business management of the Batesbnrg Herald. He will continue to live in Leesville. Rev. J. D. Shealy, of the Union Lutheran pastorate, preached in St. Paul's church Sunday afternoon. The latter church expects its new pastor, July 1, Rev. J. L. Cromer, who comes from Maiden, N. C., though a Lexington county boy. Prof. D. R. Riser, superintendent ol the high school at Dillon, Prof. Clint Riser, superintendent of the high school at Anderson, and Prof. ?oe Riser, superintendent of the high school at Tifton, 6a., are all home with their father, J. H. Riser, for the ^ summer. Another brother, Prof. Claude Riser, who is at the head of the school at Bluffton, will not return here foi the vacation season. Two sisters, Miss w Lucy and Miss Annie Rose have been ' teaching at Olar und Cameron, respectively, are spending the season with their home folks here. Riser, the successful pastor of a large Lutheran pastorate near Pomaria, is al9C a member of this, family. He is al9C a graduate of Newberry college and of the Lutheran Theological seminary. The following teachers have beer provided for the Leesville High School v for the next- session. Prof 0. H. Fowlei ^ and wife, of Fountain Inn; Misses Ruth Payne and Belle Free, and Mrs. Margaret Vance. Prof Fowler is a graduate of the Citadel, and his wife of Orangeburg College. Both have "v . had successful teaching experience. The other teachers were in the school last session. Provision will be mad" for teaching music. Haltiwanger, of Colum' bia, received Sunday a telegram announcing the death of his brother, A. J. Haltiwanger, in Rome, Ga. Mr. Haltiwanger moved to Georgia many years ago. He was born and reared In the Dutch Fork of Lexington connty <but moved to Atlanta, Ga., where he - was in business for a long time. He ^ retired from business recently on account of failing health and went to fy ? live with his daughter in Rome, Ga., - where he died at the age of 73 years. * He is survived by three brothers, P. H. and A.. D. Haltiwanger, of Columbia, ftnd A. G. Haltiwamger, of Teias, besides his immediate family, a wife, two sods and two daughters. The funeral was held from Atlanta. BARBECUE.
