Bad y Injured By A Buggy.
D. W. Matthews, a construction foreman
for Weston & Brooker, was fatally
injured at Oayce Thursday afternoon
by being caught in the wheels of a
buggy which he wss about to tniur
He was partly on the ground, one foot
being on the step, it was said, when
the horse began to cavort, turning ?he
forward running gear, and pinioning
Mr. Mattnews between the wheels and
the body of the buggy. He was injured
internally and his family are
alarmed over his condition. He is
being given medical attention at one
of the locnl hospital*. Mr. Mattbfws

conclusion of the exercises, when one
of theyouug men studenis planned an
elopement. The plans of the two
yoang lovers were discovered in time,
however, to prevent their leaving the
college together. The young man announced
his determination to escort
the young lady to her home this morning,
bat it is understood, that the
president of the institution had this
pleasure, in order to insure the safe
arrival of the young lady to her home
and back to her parents.
