CIRCULATION 2.300. E, B. Jacksor, cashier of the Bank <of Wagoner, and J. Ray Gantt, dispen ?er fct Wagener, Aiken County, and Henry j. Lyles and Levi Rish, of Lex. - ington county, spent yesterday in I<exiu^ton checkii g the county registration books in an effort to ascertain -the number of qualified electors in the territory proposed to be cut off from ^Lexington to help from the county ot Edisto with Wagener as the County seat. According to the statement of She gentlemen here today, there are 454 regit tared voters in the territory. : Of this number it is claimed that 239 | have signed the petition asking the | Oovernor to order an election. The I territory proposed to be eat off from ^Lexington takes in the towns of Pelion Thor, Samaria and Steadman. Tbe promoters of the movement ?re trying to secure enough territory from the counties of Lexington and Aiken to form a new county. The people o^ the territory voted on the pro* ? ? t- f Uo t positnn SOme years agu, uuc ai' tuai time the people voted it down. If the requisite number of signers are secured there will be nothing left for the governor to do but order an election. ' That an advertisement in the Dispatch brings results has been clearly proven on more than\ one oc casion. The Enterprise Hardware Company has found that advertising ?3oes pay. Since it has been running the advertisement of the" Majestic Range in this paper with its demonstrations they h*ve sold altogether sixteen ranges four of which was sold in one day. A local branch of \the Junior Order American jVorfcrneii will be organized here Monday night. The field for a prosperous and i? It is to be hoped that there will be a full attendance of the business men as the building of this road means much to Lexington ai d Lexington people. The exact hour will be made known later. We understand that the promoters of this road intend to commence work at the Cayce end and build toward Lexington, and that work will begin at as early a date as possible. The Seaboard Air Line Railroad Company is said to be financing the project. Old Age. Old age as it comes in the orderly process of nature is a beautiful and majestic thing. It stands for experience, knowiedge, wisdom, counsel. That is old age as it should be, but old age as it often is means poor digestion, torpid bowels, a sluggish liver and a general feeling of ill health, despondency and misery. This in almost every instance is wholly unnecessary. One of Chamberlain's Tablets taken immediately after supper will improve the digestion, tone up the liver and regulate the bowels. That feeling of despondency will give way to one of hope and good cheer. For sale by All Dealers. . adv. First Week Jurors.
