Tne executive committee of the State
fair society held a meeting yesterday
14th 1913 and outlined the plans
Jorqt greater fair. The fair will be held
the last week ia October. The matter
of selecting a geeietary was left
with the president of the society, J.
A. Banks, and he appointed D. Frank
JSSrd, of Lexington. Under the new
ohstitution and by-laws the secretary
fciu more authority than in former I
years. He has a number of appointments
at his disposal and upon the
nlaction of his assistants many im
portant details will depend. Mr. Efird
is a former secretary of the society
and is well known throughout the stute.
The society increased a number of the
premiams and began negotiations for
a p>lo game between the crack teams
af the country.
A silver cup will be awarded to the
awner of the sweep-stakes hurst.- of the
Uir.
COUNTY EXHIBITS.
The committee decided to oiYn Sl,dBO
for the best county exhibits,
arranged as follows: Five hundred
dollars for first; $300 for second, and
$200 for third. The space occnpied by

in agriculture, commerce and
