IH CIRCULATION 2.300.
Tbe Methodists of Georgetown have
completed their $7,000parsonage, My!
my! how times have changed? The
founder of the Christian religion
preached effectively with only the canopy
of heaven for a church and had
. nowhere to lay his head. Now, nothing
less than a $40,000 church and a
$7,000 parsonage will meet the demands
of these latter day saints to
preach the gospel of the meek and
lowly Nazarine.
Irmo Items.
ISo much disagreeable weatner nas
paused our farmers tp fall badly behind
infch their work. Very little planting
Hks been done yet, but if the weather
bb favorable, a lot of seeds will be pat
in this week. The small grain crop is
generally poor, and gardens and spring
qhickens are on the late list.
So far as we learn, the sick are all
convalescent. There has been a number
of cases of pnenmonia and rosaola
- in the neighborhood. We are informed
that there are several cases of small ,
pox near Irmo. Better be on the safe
side and vaccinate.
Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Harman spent
Sanday at Irmo, the guest of Mr. and
Mrs. W. E. Lorick.
Irmo has had a show for the past two
dajrs. bat there i9 nothing to it but
the gathering up of what little small
change w left.
Magistrate Lorick Is ever after the
wicked. His last court dished out to
Heber Smith, $41 or 60 days; Robert
Hiler, $21 or 30 days; Noah Quattle*
banm, $21 or 30 day.-,; and Jeff Hqllie, ,
$21 or 30 days, making a total in fines
at one hagl, $104. All were paid. H.
Former Chief Jnstice Jones has been '
to Washington in the interest of "My
Friend"' Billy Thurmond. Well one

farmer residing about four miles
from town, near Hope's Ferry, had
dropped dead while plowing in his
field. A short time before his death,

held from his late residence Thursday
and the interment was in the family
burying ground, the services being
conducted by the Rev. J. A. Cromer.
