A large crowd of people, both old and young were present, and everybody seemed to enjoy the occasion very much. The young ladies of the college deserve high praise for the splendid manner in which they entertained their guest. The gue#t were served tp ice cream, cake and punch by their charming hostess'. Excellent music for the occasion was furnished by the Batesburg Orchestra. This was the first annual reception that has been given by the students of Summerland college and one that will be long remembered by all those who attended.-?Leesviile News-Advocate. Servian Troops Abandon Allies. Cettinje, April 11.?The Servian troops which have been assisting the Montenegrin army in the siege of Scutari have withdrawn and are marching back to Servia. This leaves Montenegro standing practically alone in its defiance of its powers. The official gazette declares today that the heavy Montenegrin losses sustained-dnring the recent assault on the Tarabosch forts were due mainly to the Servian artillery which continued to fire while the allied troops were storming the works.
