A Popular Resort.
Hotel de Miller is quite a popular resort
and as a rule it is generally filled
with guests who delight to idle away
the time within its historic walls. For
some time past for some reason or another,
the rooms of this popular hostlery
have been vacant and business
there has been somewhat dull, but
now is warm weather is approaching
the hotel is beginning to fill up and
Sheriff Mill?r is put to his P'a and Q's
to meet the increased demand upon
his generous hospitality. But in this,
as well as in the discharge of every
other duty of his office, he is "Johnny
on the Spot,7' and there isalways room
ior one more.
The latest guest who registered
there is the Hon. Arthur Fogle a son
of Ham. who is alleged to have ap
propriated to his own use the mule and
buggy of Mr. George Oxner, a wed
known farmer >residing on Hollow
Creek, against the peace and dignity
of the State and with malice aforethought
to the material loss of Mr.
Oxner. This makes the seventh guest
who has registered there in the past
> four days.
