S. Orme, "father of the juvenile courts," was in Columbia for the ; purpose of arousing interest in the j betterment of the living and working j conditions of the young boys and girls. He stated that be would endeavor to talk to the legislature in behalf of a juvenile court and an industrial home for the wayward boys and girls who are thrown with criminal classes after conviction for their first step in the downward path.
