The Paimetto National Bank of Cow,
iumbia commenced business as State
back on a comparatively small scale,
and its growth has eyer been upward
and its popularity always on the inw
crease, untill today ic is oae of the
strongest- and most popular financial
institutions in the State. The amount
of business done by it is marvelous as
its quarterly statement published in
this issue will show. Gen. Wilie Jones
is the President, and is favorably
known throughout the length and
v breadth of the State, and Mr. J. P.
Matthews, almost * qually as well
known for bis accommodating qualities
and soundness of business judgment,
is the Cashier. We can assure
our readers who have any banking
business of whatever kind of nature
that they cannot possibly find a better
place to do it than through the Palmetto
National Bank.
Bed Room Entered.
I
Last Monday night thieves entered
the room of Mr. Kinsler Roof, which
is up-stairs in rear of the Telephone
exchange and stole his watch. Mr.
^ Roof was asleep in the room at the
time but the thieves did not awaken
him. They entered over the Wingard
grocery 9tore. The policeman on his
i rounds saw and spoke to three persons
behind the store but it being dark he
could not tell whether they were white
or black, but they made no reply to
w lils hail.

QUESTION -CLEARED UP
Lexington Headers Can No
Longer Doubt the Evidence.
Again and again we have read ot
strangers in distant towns who have
been cured by fchia or that medicine.
Unt. T^pxincrton,s pertinent Question
had always been "Has anyone here in
Lexington been cored?" The word of
a stranger liTing a hnndred miles
away may be true, but it cannot have
the same weight with as as the word
of our own citizens, whom we know
and respect, and whose evidence we
can so easily prove.
Mrs. Myrtle Hsriing, Factory Hill,
Lexington, 8. C., says: "I can highly
recommend Doan's Kidney Pills, for
[ have observed the good r;salts that
have followed their use. A member
cf my family had kidney and bladder
trouble and his back ached intensely.
He used Doan's Kidney Pills and they
?ave him immediate relief. We do not
hink there is a better kidney medicine
to be bad.''
