lost to the industries in this city and
the loss in wages to workmen is estimated
at $10,000,000 This does not
include the losses incurred by the
strikers in the women's garment
industry.

and that further negotiations with
the strikers were out of the question.
A proposal made by the United Manufacturers*
Association more than a
week ago, including a provision for
52 hours a week and an increase in
wages of 5 to 10 per cent was to be
voted on today by the garment cutters.
The tailors and operators have
taken no steps to vote on the matter.
