Shot and Killed His Man.
Robert B. Sanders of Red Oak township,
Barnwell connty, was shot and
killed by Jesse Owens, a white employe
on Mr. Sanders place. The particulars
of the homicide are very meagre,
but from what can be learned
there seems to have been a difficulty
of some sort between Mr. Sanders and
Owens' wife. The weapon used was
a shotgun. Practically the entire load
struck Mr. Sanders in the face, causing
death in a few minutes. Mr. Sanders
was a well-to-do, highly respectony^

Death of Collns Meetze.
Colins Meetze, Bon of Mr. and Mrs.
J. Q. Meetze, died at the home of his
parents on Thursday afternoon, following
a week's illness of typhoid fever.
The young man was in his 21st year,
and was popular with hi9 associates
Besides his parents he leaves seven
brothers and two sisters. His remains
were laid to rest at Providence church
on Saturday in the presence of a large
congregation, the Rev. P. D, Risinger
performing the last sad rites.
