Mrs. Robt. Fallaw Dead.
A9 we go to press we learn that Mrs
Robt. Fallaw died at Ga9ton on Monday
night and will be buried at Gaston
today.
Mr. Roof Did Not Perfect
Arrangements.
% It is understood that Mr. Roof, the
bankrupt, who agreed at a meeting of
his creditors on Mav 11, to pay $75,000
as a compromise, the proposition to be
perfected within 60 days, is unable to
nftrrv nnt his agreement. and the
whole matter will now be settled in
b nkruptcy proceedings. This means
that the creditors will receive practically
nothing.
Clifton Chavis Arrested.
Clifton Chavis, a young white man
of the Gaston section, was lodged in
jail by Sheriff Miller on Saturday, after
a lively little chase. Chavis is
charged with being drunk and disorderly
and firing a pistol on the public
highway.
