Three Murderers Hanged.
Eugene Baxter, alias Eugene Nelson;
Tom White and Steve Johnson,
all colored, were hanged at St. Augustine,
Fla., Friday morning, May 31,
from the same scaffold. Baxter and
Johnson were conyfctedof the murder
of Simon Silverstein, a Jacksonville
grocer, on March 2, while Johnson
confessed to the murder of another
negro in St. John's county. Baxter
and White denied any knowledge of
the crime for which they died, professing
their innocence even on the scaffold.
Silverstein's murder was a sensation
here for many days, his wife and two
children, who have now recovered,
lying for almost two weeks near the
point of death at a local hospital as
the result of blows inflicted by the
murderer who killed the hatband and
father.
Ends Hunt For Elch Girl.
Often the hunt f^r a rich wife ends
when the man meets a woman that
uses Electric Bisters. Her strong
nerves tell in a bright brain and even
temper. 1 Her peach bloom complexion
and ruby lips result from her pure
blood; her bright eyes from restful
sleep; her elastic step from firm, free
muscles, all telling of the health and
strength Electric Bitters give a woman,
and the freedom from indigestion,
backache, headache, fainting and dizzy
spells they promote. Everywhere
they are woman's favorite remedy. If
weak or ailing try them. 50c at The

Killed Self in His Cell.
A mysterious life inmate of the
New Hampshire state prison, known
as "John Doe," no reliable information
ever haying been secured as to |
his fall name or past history, committed
suicide in his cell during the night j
by hanging himself to a grating with a
rope made from his mattress. On
February 10, 1906, Doe and an accomplice,
Joseph Gouin, a French-Canadian,
after robbing a safe in Dover,
boarded the St. John-Boston train at
Rockingham Junction and killed an
Italian passenger in the smoking car.
Both were captured after an exciting
chase and on May 15, following, were
sentenced to prison,

Ovaries Sable, 30 Cook St., Rochester,
N. Y., says he recommends Foley
Kidney Piils at every opportunity because
they gave him prompt relief
from a bad case of kidney trouble that
had long bothered him. Such a recommendation,
coming from Mr. Sable,
is direct and convincing evidence of
the great curative qualities of Foley

Lost Three Little Ones.
A most distressing occurrence rcj
cent!}' took place in Craven County,
t N. C., in which three children of Geo.
! Adams lost their lives. Ills wife was
l
! doing some washing in the yard while
I the children, the eldest eight and the
! youngest one year old, played nearby,
j Noises were heard from a nest cccuJ
pied by i setting hen, when Mrs. Adj
ams told the eldest boy to go throw
j the fowl off the nest. The boy went
and without looking, put his hand into
J the nest to catch the hen. He quickly
withdrew it, crying that she had pecked
him. The second boy volunteered
to throw off the hen, but soon screamed
that he had been pecked al90. The
mother rushed to the nest and found
a rattlesnake in it, and to her horror
saw the snake had bitten both boys.
In her anxiety to do something for
the older boys, the one year old child
was forgotten for the time being, and
when she returned for it, found that it
had climbed over into the tub of water
and was drowned. The two boys that
had been bitten by the rattlesnake
died the same day, and all three children
were buried together in the same
grave.

John Weslej*, a negro, was struck
