After reading of min. utes of last meeting and enrollment of new members, the president called on Dr. W. F. Burleigh, of Clemson College, who explained what wa9 necessary for a county to do to get into the quarantine territory; namely build dipping vats, spray uie cattle or rotate the pasture lands. On motion it was decided to appoint three persons in different communities to raise funds, gather material and have dipping vats bnilt under the supervision of the State and National divisions of animal industry. On motion it was decided to ask the Supervisor and his board to contribute $100 to buy chemicals to make the solution for the various \ats. The board voted the amount asked. The aboye-namea committees are requested to meet at their earliest convenience, to canvass their respective sections for funds, select a place to build their vats and report their findings to the county secretary. Wednesday afternoon at Cassette, a small station a few miles south of McBee, the boiler of an engine at a shingle mill exploded. One man, Marion Shull, of Banner Elk, N. C., was instantly killed. Mr. Shull had been married only about a month. Several others were slightly hurt. John R.
