Teachers Held An
Interesting Session.
The County Teachers' Association of
Lexington county met last Saturday ,
agd held its asnal monthly meetiug.
Judging from the number of teachers
present, rhe association is making
wonderful strides in every way.
Nearly all parts of the oouuty were
represented and the meeting was a
very enthusiastic one.
Several addresses were delivered bv
the different members of the association,
the most noteworthy being those j
of Profs. Black, Bauknight and Baldwin.
Nearly every member present
had some helpful suggestion to make

having come. The association is becoming
a power for the betterment of
school conditions. In these meetings
problems that pertain to every department
of school life is discussed.
The teachers are very proud of their
association, which is evidenced by the
number present at each meeting.
An instructive programme has been
arranged for the next meeting, to bp
held on April 13'h, and it is to be
hoped that every white teacher in
Lexington County will be present and
reap the benefits to be derived from

Broke Man's Neck With
Hand.
Benj. Sanford, a night patrolman,
killed Jack May, a negro, near Enterprise,
Miss , on Saturday, by striking
him with his open hand. The officer
said he had torn his clothes on a
barbed wire fence and when he ordered
the negro to remove the fence,
received An insolent answer. A physician
said the negro's neck was bro!
ken.
